Cyprus’ Aphrodite field to be connected to Egypt

Arab Finance: Developers of the Aphrodite natural gas field, located in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), are planning to connect the field to an Egyptian liquified natural gas (LNG) production facility via a submarine pipeline, Reuters reported, citing one of the project’s partners on May 31st.

The developers, namely NewMed, Chevron, and Shell have submitted a development plan for the Cypriot government approval.

“The updated plan is expected to accelerate and reduce the cost of development,” NewMed commented.
