Arab Finance: The Cabinet has ratified a draft on issuing an asylum law, as per a statement on June 7th.
As stipulated in the draft law, refugees and asylum seekers shall conciliate their living conditions in accordance with the provisions of this law within a year from the enforcement date of the executive regulations.
The prime minister, after the cabinet’s approval, is entitled to extend the period to another year.
In addition, he shall issue the law’s executive regulations within six months as of the date of enforcement.
As per the draft law, a committee, dubbed the standing committee for refugees’ affairs, shall be formed in Cairo to provide refugees with all kinds of support, care, and services, in coordination with other related authorities.
The premier shall issue a decision respecting the committee formation three months as of the law enforcement date.
The committee shall prepare a quarterly report on its business results, to be submitted to the prime minister by its chair.
