Arab Finance: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the Tahya Masr multipurpose terminal at Alexandria port as well as a number of maritime transport and land port projects, according to a statement on June 15th.
The terminal includes docks extending over 1,900 meters with a total capacity of 1.5 million containers, 2 million tons of general goods, and 100,000 cars, totaling a range between 12 and 15 million tons, Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir said.
El-Sisi also inaugurated the October Dry Port that extends over an area of 100 feddans and includes 10 buildings, handling docks on a 60-feddan area, 4.8 kilometers long railways, and 70,000 square-meter roads.
The port’s handling capacity amounts to 720 containers per day, while its storage capacity is 260,000 containers.
The president also inaugurated the Salloum Land Port which is located on a 286-feddan area and include 41 buildings, in addition to utilities and a 700-feddan logistics area.
