Arab Finance: Shell Egypt has signed an agreement with its partners, namely the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Petronas to develop the 10th phase in Egypt’s Nile Delta offshore West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) concession in the Mediterranean, as per an emailed release on July 6th.
Pending the regulatory approvals, the drilling works will start by the end of 2023 after the arrival of rigs.
The works include the drilling of three wells. The Burullus Gas Company is the operator of the 10th phase.
“This is a significant step towards unlocking further hydrocarbon potential in Egypt’s rich Nile Delta region,” Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla commented.
