Arab Finance: The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has purchased 470,000 metric tons of wheat in an international tender, Reuters reported.
The deal included 300,000 tons of Russian wheat, 120,000 tons of Romanian wheat, and 50,000 tons of Bulgarian wheat.
On October 10th, it was reported that Egypt entered a direct deal with a Russian state-backed merchant for eight wheat cargoes of 480,000 tons, with shipment scheduled for November and December.
Egypt’s wheat imports rose 30% year on year (YoY) during the first nine months of 2023.
