Egypt Kuwait Holding starts UK project to convert plastic waste into oil

Arab Finance: Egypt Kuwait Holding announced the start of a project in the UK to recycle plastic waste into oils through one of its subsidiaries, in which the company holds an 85% stake, as per a disclosure.

The project is part of the company’s plans to broaden its geographic presence, diversify revenue sources, and support foreign currency inflows.

The estimated investment cost for the first phase is approximately £60 million.

The plant will convert plastic waste into oils using advanced pyrolysis technology.

Construction has begun, with completion and the start of operations expected in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026.
