Hassan Allam Construction Saudi to construct Primary Coral Nursery for KAUST Initiative in Neom

Arab Finance: Hassan Allam Construction Saudi, alongside King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, has signed a contract for the construction works of the Primary Coral Nursery within KAUST Coral Restoration Initiative, according to an emailed press release.

In partnership with NEOM, KAUST Coral Restoration Initiative is the largest coral reef restoration effort in the world, located at Haddah Beach, North of Saudi Arabia.

The contract was signed in the presence of Hassan Allam Construction CEO Mohamed El Dahshoury, KAUST President Tony Chan, and Managing Director of Hassan Allam Construction Saudi Mohamed El Aasar, among others.

The scope of work involves the construction of the primary coral nursery and external infrastructure works.

"Our collaboration with KAUST is a true testament to the power of partnership and collective action in addressing the pressing environmental challenges of our time. The KAUST Coral Restoration Initiative […] not only aims to restore and protect marine environments but also serves as a model for sustainable conservation efforts," Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding, said.

The land-based coral nursery will encompass nearly 400 tanks and the latest coral propagation technologies, aiming to preserve, restore, and enhance the Red Sea’s natural coral ecosystems.
