Electricity Minister directs immediate installation of code meters for violators

Arab Finance: The Minister of Electricity Mahmoud Esmat has issued a ministerial decree to immediately install temporary prepaid code meters for violators illegally connected to the electricity grid, as per a statement.

This decision applies to all properties without exception, granting them no rights to violate it, the minister highlighted.

Code meters will help electricity distribution companies measure illegally obtained power consumption, which will consequently improve the quality of electrical supply, he added.

Additionally, he noted that the state’s nine electricity distribution companies have installed 33,000 code meters across the country last week.
