Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued a resolution on the controls governing the collection of residence fees in US dollar or equivalent currencies, as per a cabinet statement.

The resolution stipulates that foreigners who submitted requests to the General Administration of Passports, Immigration and Nationality to obtain residence permits shall submit a receipt proving the payment of the required fees.

Moreover, foreigners who reside in the country illegally shall legalize their residence, provided that they are hosted by an Egyptian citizen, within three months of the resolution’s issuance.

Legalization of residence is executed for administrative fee amounting to $1,000, or an equivalent amount.
