ENPPI, PETROJET to implement 10-MW power generation project at ASORC

Arab Finance: The Engineering for Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI) and Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company (PETROJET) have been assigned the implementation of a 10-megawatt (MW) power generation project via using solar cells at Assiut Oil Refining Company (ASORC), with investments of EGP 550 million, a statement showed.

The project is set to be finalized within 11 months.

Moreover, the country’s petroleum sector is currently working on executing a similar project to generate power from solar energy with a capacity of 6.5 MW at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) with EGP 500 million in investments, the statement read.

Both projects will be funded via a grant provided by the European Union (EU).

The projects aim to contribute to securing alternative and sustainable energy resources and alleviate pressure on the country’s national electricity grid.
