Arab Finance: The Canadian gold exploration firm Aton Resources is planning to start producing gold in Egypt’s Eastern Desert by 2025, after 15 years of prospection works in the area, Asharq Business reported, citing two sources familiar with the matter.

Aton Resources, which runs gold prospection works at its Abu Marawat concession in the Arabian-Nubian Shield in the Eastern Desert, is a step away from obtaining a gold production license from the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) which could be this month, a government source said.

It is worth noting that the firm has pumped investments of around $32.4 billion into the Hamama area in Abu Marawat concession since the beginning of exploration in 2010.
