Arab Finance: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), affiliated to Ministry of Civil Aviation, won a seat on the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) for a four-year term that will last to 2027, the ministry announced on June 2nd.
This came during the elections held at the nineteenth session of the World Meteorological Congress, which was held at the organization’s headquarters in the Swiss capital, Geneva, from May 22nd to June 2nd, with the participation of 163 countries.
The move coincides with the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the WMO and with the launch of the International Early Warning Initiative for All, which aims to preserve lives and property from the dangers of climate change.
