Arab Finance: The value of trade between Egypt and Sudan rose 18.7% year on year (YoY) in 2022 to $1.4 billion from $1.2 billion, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced.
Egyptian exports to Sudan increased 12.4% YoY in 2022 to $929.2 million from $826.8 million.
Meanwhile, the North African country’s imports from Sudan surged 32.1% to $509.4 million last year from $385.6 million in 2021.
Remittances of Egyptians working in Sudan inched up 2.7% YoY in fiscal year (FY) 2021/2022 to $13.3 million, while remittances of Sudanese living in Egypt dropped by 22.5% YoY to $1.6 million.
