Madbouly declares Sunday off for public, private sectors on Coptic Christmas

Arab Finance: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly declared Sunday, January 8th as a paid holiday for both the public and private sectors on the occasion of Coptic Christmas, according to a statement by the Cabinet on January 2nd.

The Coptic Orthodox Church, along with a number of other Christian denominations, celebrates Christmas on January 7th.

The Coptic Church is Egypt's largest denomination; around 90% of Egyptian Christians are members.
