Arab Finance: The Canada-based mineral exploration firm Aton Resources has drilled 21 holes for a total of 3,662 meters at the Semna prospect in its 100%-owned Abu Marawat concession in Egypt’s Eastern Desert, as per a press release.
The company’s preliminary results of a four-meter composite sampling are available for the first 17 holes, SMP-001 to SMP-016, nine of which are targeting the Main Vein zone.
The results showed that eight of the nine holes targeting the Main Vein zone intersected moderate to high grade gold mineralization.
“The drilling has indicated that the high-grade orogenic style gold mineralization at Semna continues at depth beneath the old mine stopes, and is also open along strike,” the firm’s Interim CEO Tonno Vahk commented.
“These results further indicate the potential of the Abu Marawat Concession to host multiple deposits with a variety of mineralization styles,” Vahk added.
