The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) in Egypt has established a humanitarian corridor between Aswan in Upper Egypt and Wadi Halfa in Sudan to tackle the urgent needs of those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Since 2016, the long-term partnership between the WFP and Fawry has enabled the program to support communities and individuals to securely disburse cash assistance, through SMS vouchers and smart exchange cards, through more than 310,000 Fawry machines spread all over the country.

“Achieving food security is a collective responsibility that involves every individual around the world. The 1 Million School Meals campaign is a model of how WFP and our partners strive to forge channels that provide an opportunity for everyone to make a difference with a school meal,” said WFP Representative and Country Director in Egypt, Praveen Agrawal.
