Around 1,600 German companies operating in Egypt have injected a total investment worth over €6 billion into the country's private sector, mainly the energy, green transition, and industrial development sectors.

Egypt and Germany have signed agreements worth €77.3 million to support various development sectors, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation.

A signing ceremony of financing agreements, including a €30 million debt swap agreement, will highlight the first Egyptian-German Development Cooperation Day.

Egypt and China are probing activating the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed earlier on October 19th, 2023, to boost cooperation in the field of debt swapping in order to implement development projects.

Egypt is currently in advanced talks with China on a debt swap agreement worth $100 to $120 million.
