Tamweely Microfinance has launched its first securitization program valued at EGP 5 billion, marking a significant milestone in its strategy to diversify funding sources and accelerate its expansion.

A consortium of international investors has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the Egyptian non-banking financial services provider Tamweely Microfinance for more than EGP 2.5 billion.

Egyptian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) has signed an EGP 150 million financing agreement with the non-banking financial service provider Tamweely.

Tamweely Microfinance will launch a new financing business line in the coming days to serve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) after being licensed by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA).

Ahmed Khorched, CEO and Managing Director of Tamweely, said that by obtaining this license, Tamweely would have turned into an integrated company to serve the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
