Arab Finance: The General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) has reinforced its strategic partnership with Vodafone Egypt in in the fields of medical tourism, the internet of things (IoT), and telemedicine, as per a statement on January 6th.
This came as a result of a meeting between the Chairman of GAH Ahmed El-Sobky and a delegation from Vodafone Egypt.
During the meeting, El-Sobky directed the formation of a technical workshop between GAH, Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA), and Vodafone to improve the quality of the digital services of the new health insurance system.
He also probed with Vodafone on ways to promote the GAH’s medical tourism project via innovative technological solutions.
The country is targeting to transfer its universal health insurance expertise to several countries, in partnership with Vodafone, El-Sobky noted.
Moreover, The GAH mulled cooperation with Vodafone to launch a digital platform for telemedicine, in addition to the application of the IoT in the Suez Medical Complex to be the first integrated digital hospital in Egypt.
