Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is currently negotiating with five listed firms in the agricultural sector to issue carbon emission reduction certificates, EGX’s Chairman Ahmed El-Sheikh told Asharq Business.
The EGX has agreed with a listed private agricultural company to issue carbon emission reduction certificate program within a year or a year and a half, El Sheikh noted.
On August 13th, Egypt officially launched the first voluntary carbon market in the country and Africa.
