Egypt, South Africa to strengthen coordination at forums on global economic issues  

Arab Finance: Egypt is seeking to enhance joint coordination with South Africa at continental and international forums on various global economic issues, the Egyptian Ministry of Finance announced in a statement on March 17th.

On the sidelines of the second edition of the Financial Sector Conference (FSC 2023) in the Saudi capital Riyadh, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait discussed this matter with his South African counterpart Enoch Godongwana.

The two officials reviewed the repercussions of the global economic crises on African and emerging economies and stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to deal with these impacts on the economies.

Furthermore, Maait and Godongwana highlighted the key role of international financial institutions in offering low-cost and concessional finance to emerging economies, which assist them to adapt to the negative consequences of climate change and the gradual transition to green economy that is based on the use of clean energy resources.
