Arab Finance: Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir inaugurated the first phase of Xylem Egypt Manufacturing Factory for Pumps and Water Solutions, which is worth EGP 300 million in investments, according to a statement on May 22nd.
The factory, in partnership with an Egyptian company, will manufacture and assemble a collection of the leading brands in the field of water as well as producing entire units and spare parts and rolling them out in the Egyptian and neighboring markets, Samir noted.
In its first phase, the factory will manufacture centrifugal pumps used for irrigation, heating and cooling systems, or commercial centers’ services, in addition to end suction pumps which are used for irrigation and in industrial applications, he added.
The minister said that the factory, as the first of its kind in Egypt, will export 50% of its production abroad, especially to Africa and the Middle East.
It is worth noting that the factory was established on a 9,000-square-meter area, with a production capacity ranging between 2,000 and 4,000 pumps per year.
