Arab Finance: Egypt has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations’ (UN) Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) to enhance the efficiency of the country’s social spending, according to a statement.
The MoU was signed by the Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait and the UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA Rola Dashti.
The deal aims to measure social spending efficiency via providing a database to conduct actuarial studies, which contribute to the sustainability of solvency in order to develop the country’s pivotal sectors, Maait said.
