Cabinet approves suspending remote work system for Sundays

Arab Finance: The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, suspended the provisions of Decree No. 982 of 2026 on the implementation of a remote work system every Sunday for all employees in government entities.

The remote work system was first introduced last April as part of a government energy-saving plan to optimize consumption amid a surge in global oil prices resulting from the Israel-Iran war.

The Cabinet approved extensions for May, June, July, and August before renewing the system again for September.
