Egypt’s annual core inflation hit 11.2% in January: CBE

Arab Finance: Egypt's annual core consumer price index (CPI) inflation recorded 11.2% in January 2026, compared to 11.8% last December, the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) data showed.

The monthly core CPI inflation registered 1.2%, down year-on-year (YoY) from 1.7% in January 2025.

Meanwhile, the annual urban headline CPI inflation stood at 11.9% in January, compared to 12.3% in December.

The monthly urban headline CPI inflation hit 1.2% in January 2026, higher than 0.2% in December 2025.
