EFG Holding prepares for Egypt’s largest IPO in 20 years: CEO

Arab Finance: EFG Holding is preparing for the listing of three additional companies on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) in 2026, Group CEO Karim Awad said at the EnterpriseAM Forum.

One of the offerings would probably rank among Egypt’s largest listings over the last 15-20 years in terms of USD value, he added.

Awad expected EFG Holding to witness strong growth during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026, beginning with  MNT-Halan’s plans for an international public offering (IPO).

As for the group’s investment bank arm, EFG Hermes, the company is serving as joint global coordinator and bookrunner on the highly anticipated offering alongside Citi

In the GCC region, the CEO expects a slowdown in IPO activity now, highlighting that EFG Holding completed a rare IPO in Kuwait with Trolley just before the war and accelerated OQ Base Industries’ book-build during the ceasefire.

He still rates the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait as well-followed markets with interesting companies and sees a much better year for them in 2027 if the war ends soon.

It is worth noting that MNT-Halan plans to list 1.6 billion shares, representing an issued capital of EGP 160 million.

In June, Bloomberg reported that the IPO is expected to value MNT-Halan at between $900 million and $1 billion.
