EGX closes Monday on varied note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Monday, as the EGX30 index went down by 0.35% to 54,094.33 points.

Likewise, the Shariah index fell by 0.13% to 6,163.83 points.

On the other hand, the EGX35-LV rose by 1% to 6,568.88 points.

Both the EGX70 index and EGX100 index closed the session up 1.36% to 19,293.24 points and 1.28% to 25,275.46 points, respectively.

The EGX’s turnover hit EGP 15.881 billion after the exchange of 3.191 billion shares through 334,098 transactions. Meanwhile, the market cap hit EGP 4.022 trillion.

Individuals dominated 78.44% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 21.55%.

The Egyptians controlled 91.25% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 5.19% and 3.56%, respectively.

Arab investors were sellers with EGP 139.308 million. Egyptian and foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 74.932 million and EGP 64.375 million, respectively.
