Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a positive performance on Sunday, with the EGX30 up by 1.61% to 5,3911.1 points.
The Shariah index rose by 2.94% to 6,636.61 points, while the EGX35-LV jumped by 1.60% to 6,598 points.
Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index closed the session higher by 3.04% at 19,952.98 points and by 2.77% to 26,366.99 points, respectively.
EGX’s turnover reached EGP 10.265 billion through the trading of 2.030 billion shares over 286,367 transactions. The market cap amounted to EGP 4.263 trillion.
Retail investors accounted for 75.23% of trading transactions, while institutions represented 24.76%.
Egyptians dominated 94.62% of total trading, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 3.68% and 1.7%, respectively.
Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 222.462 million and EGP 79.360 million, respectively. Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 301.823 million.
