Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s trading session in the green zone, as the EGX30 index rose by 2.24% to 53,055.03 points.
The Shariah index went up by 3.13% to 6,447.37 points, while the EGX35-LV climbed by 2.70% to 6,493.82 points.
Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index closed the session higher by 3.96% at 19,363.53 points and by 3.55% to 25,655.63 points, respectively.
EGX’s turnover hit EGP 9.357 billion through the trading of 1.973 billion shares over 256,826 transactions. The market cap hit EGP 4.185 trillion.
Retail investors accounted for 77.21% of trading transactions, while institutions represented 22.78%.
Egyptians controlled 89.88% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 7.13% and 2.99%, respectively.
Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 225.679 million and EGP 92.834 million, respectively. Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 318.514 million.
