Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday in the red zone for the second consecutive session, with the EGX30 down 0.48% to 53,298.14 points.
The Shariah index declined by 0.37% to 6,584.07 points, while the EGX35-LV fell by 0.43% to 6,521.37 points.
Likewise, the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session lower by 0.68% at 19,642.65 points and by 0.69% to 25,953.13 points, respectively.
EGX’s turnover reached EGP 9.085 billion through the trading of 2.320 billion shares over 220,462 transactions, whereas the market cap hit EGP 4.213 trillion.
Individuals accounted for 73.79% of trading transactions, while institutions equaled 26.2%.
Egyptians controlled 89.53% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors accounted for 7.06% and 3.4%, respectively.
Foreign and Arab traders were sellers with EGP 142.666 million and EGP 65.408 million, respectively. Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 208.074 million.
