Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session in the green zone, as the EGX30 index rose by 0.72% to 56,676.16 points.
The Shariah index jumped by 1.28% to 6,723.16 points, while the EGX35-LV climbed by 1.65% to 7.113.5 points.
Both the EGX70 index and EGX100 index closed the session up 1.48% to 21,618.27 points and 1.13% to 28,213.87 points, respectively.
The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 15.564 billion after the exchange of 4.548 billion shares through 346,184 transactions. Meanwhile, the market cap hit EGP 4.452 trillion.
Individuals dominated 78.6% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 21.39%.
The Egyptians controlled 93.44% of total trading, while Arab and foreign investors made up 4.23% and 2.33%, respectively.
Foreign and Arab investors were sellers with EGP 256.117 million and EGP 32.906 million, respectively. Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 289.023 million.
