Arab Finance: The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) and the Saudi Space Agency (SSA) have begun outlining an executive plan to design and build the first joint Egyptian-Saudi satellite, as per a statement.
EgSA CEO Maged Ismail discussed the initiative with Ahmed bin Saleh Alghofaili, Deputy CEO of the SSA, ahead of the opening of the El Alamein International Airshow 2026.
The proposed satellite is intended to use space technology to support development programs and address priorities shared by Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The talks are part of efforts between the two countries to move their space cooperation toward implementation and pursue projects that support sustainable development.
The El Alamein International Airshow 2026 is being held at El Alamein International Airport from September 8 to 10, following a dedicated aerospace symposium on September 7.
