Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued Decree No. 997 of 2026 renewing the appointment of Ashraf El-Araby as President of the Institute of National Planning for a four-year term, effective February 17th, 2026, as per a statement.
The decision reflects the state’s focus on leveraging national expertise to support the planning system and improve the efficiency of public policies, in line with efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom noted that El-Araby’s academic and professional track record is expected to support the institute’s continued role in advancing development planning, preparing strategic plans, conducting economic and developmental research, and training qualified personnel.
Rostom added that the institute plays a key role in providing technical advice to support strategic decision-making, drawing on its pool of experts and specialists across multiple disciplines.
Established in 1960, the Institute of National Planning has been part of Egypt’s development framework for more than six decades and remains one of the region’s leading institutions in the field of development planning.
