Arab Finance: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held a meeting with the organizing and technical committees of the Mediterranean Offshore Conference and Exhibition (MOC 2026) to review the latest preparations for the event, which will be held in Alexandria from October 20 to 22, 2026.

The conference represents a significant platform to showcase achievements in the oil and gas sector and to promote the country’s potential to international investors, contributing to attracting more investments, applying modern technologies, and forging partnerships, Badawi noted.

He stressed the importance of leveraging the conference to highlight developments and reforms in the petroleum sector, capitalize on successful global expertise and technologies, and explore their potential application and localization in Egypt. This will support increased production and maximize added value.

For his part, Mohamed Radwan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of MOC 2026, outlined updates on the preparations and organization of the conference, held under the theme "Egypt as an Anchoring Force for Energy Security in the Mediterranean".

Radwan indicated that the conference's vision is to achieve the maximum practical benefit from the participating international research and expertise, and to link them to the needs of the petroleum sector and development plans over the upcoming years.

Meanwhile, Tamer Edrees, Deputy CEO for Production at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), revealed that 338 scientific papers from 27 countries were submitted to the conference, with international participation from multiple geographic regions.

Around 84 key papers were selected, distributed across about 20 technical sessions, in addition to two plenary sessions. Edrees added that organizers are targeting the completion of all presentations by September, alongside the finalization of the conference’s organizational and logistical preparations.
