Arab Finance: The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and India have explored ways to increase Indian investments in Egypt, support companies operating in the country, and strengthen partnerships between the two markets, as per a statement.
The discussions took place during a meeting between GAFI CEO Mohamed Awad and India’s Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K. Reddy.
Awad reaffirmed GAFI’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Indian business community and providing companies with the support needed to capitalize on investment opportunities in Egypt, particularly across priority sectors.
The meeting reviewed available projects and investment opportunities, as well as mechanisms to support Indian companies operating in Egypt and encourage them to expand and make new investments.
The two sides also explored ways to deepen partnerships between Egyptian and Indian companies to support bilateral investment and trade and generate mutual benefits.
Reddy reaffirmed India’s commitment to expanding economic and investment cooperation with Egypt, citing the opportunities available to Indian companies in the Egyptian market.
He also highlighted the importance of maintaining coordination to identify new opportunities and support the expansion of Indian businesses in the country.
Both sides agreed to continue coordinating, exchange information about investment opportunities and priority projects, and strengthen communication between the Egyptian and Indian business communities. The efforts are intended to attract further Indian investment to Egypt and create new avenues for economic and investment partnerships.
