Gemma turns profitable in Q2 2026

Arab Finance: El Ezz Ceramics and Porcelain (Gemma) turned to profits of EGP 15.71 million in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, versus a loss of EGP 28.60 million in Q2 2025, according to the financial results.

Net sales hiked by 132% YoY to EGP 869.15 million in Q2 2026 from EGP 659.24 million.

The management commented: “The results for Q2 2026 reflect the company's continued gradual improvement in both operational and commercial performance, supported by higher sales volumes, increased export contribution, and an improved product mix with a greater share of porcelain products and other higher value-added offerings.”

“This performance was achieved despite ongoing economic challenges and a difficult operating environment, including higher production, energy, and financing costs, as well as intense price competition from low-cost imported products, particularly from Asian markets.”

In Q1 2026, the EGX-listed company incurred net losses after tax valued at EGP 85.071 million, an annual hike of 179.86% from EGP 30.397 million.
