Infinity Power, Hassan Allam Utilities sign PPA for 1 GW Ras Shokeir wind project

Arab Finance: Infinity Power and Hassan Allam Utilities Energy signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for the 1-gigawatt Ras Shokeir wind project in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez, according to a statement.

In line with the continued expansion of the renewable energy sector, the partnership is expected to advance a large-scale wind project and bolster Egypt’s clean energy infrastructure.

Once operational, the Ras Shokeir wind project will generate enough clean electricity to power more than 1.2 million Egyptian homes while avoiding over 1.36 million tons of CO2 emissions.

The agreement was signed by Mona Rizk, Chairperson of EETC, and Nayer Fouad, Co-Founder and CEO of Infinity Power, representing the Infinity Power-Hassan Allam consortium.

In June, Infinity Power and AIKO Energy, in collaboration with project partner Hassan Allam Utilities Energy, signed a deal to supply photovoltaic modules to the 1.2 GWp Nefer Minya solar project.

In 2025, the two energy players inked a shareholders’ agreement with Misr Petroleum and Gastec to establish Egypt’s first company dedicated to electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
