Arab Finance: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi inaugurated Konecta's regional headquarters in New Cairo, with investments of approximately $100 million, according to an emailed press release.

The launch marks a new phase in the global customer experience (CX) provider's expansion in Egypt. It will enable Konecta to serve clients across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas with advanced digital services, including digital customer experience, AI, data analytics, technical support, and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

Headquartered in Madrid, Spain, Konecta is a leading global provider of digital customer experience, AI-powered CX solutions, and business process outsourcing (BPO). The company employs around 109,000 professionals across 28 countries, delivering services in 40 languages.

The new HQ serves as a key delivery center within Konecta's global network and houses the company's first Global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Generative AI. The facility will develop, design, and deploy advanced Generative AI and agentic AI solutions to support Konecta's worldwide operations, underscoring Egypt's growing role as a regional hub for AI innovation and digital services.

Konecta Egypt currently employs around 800 highly skilled professionals, providing AI-powered customer experience and multilingual customer management services in Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch.

As part of its long-term growth strategy, Konecta aims to increase its workforce in Egypt to around 3,000 specialists by the end of 2028, further expanding the country's role in delivering digital services to global markets.

For his part, Hindi said the continued expansion of global companies in Egypt's offshoring industry reflects the country's success in building a competitive ecosystem capable of attracting global investment and exporting high-value digital services.

The minister added that the growing presence of international ICT companies contributes to transferring global expertise to Egyptian professionals, creating high-quality employment opportunities, attracting new investments, and strengthening Egypt's competitiveness as a global destination for high-value offshoring services.

The regional expansion builds on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in January 2025 between ITIDA and Konecta to launch the company’s operations in Egypt and establish a regional hub serving markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
