Madbouly inaugurates 1st phase of $20M Designy Doors factory in Sokhna

Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the first phase of the Designy Doors factory in the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, with the project targeting total investments of $20 million, as per a statement.

The factory specializes in wooden and wood-plastic composite (WPC) doors, alongside finishing products, flooring accessories, and wood-alternative wall cladding.

Madbouly said the state encourages investments that use modern manufacturing methods to produce competitive goods, particularly in the finishing and building materials sector. He highlighted the sector’s growth amid the urban and development projects being implemented across Egypt.

He also stressed the importance of expanding local production capacity, providing high-quality alternatives to imports, and supporting manufacturers seeking to increase exports and improve the competitiveness of Egyptian products in international markets.

During the tour, Madbouly inspected production processes in the factory’s wood and plastics departments, including preparation, cutting, pressing, assembly, packaging, and final production.

The factory's manager Abdo Eid said the project spans 35,000 square meters, targets total investments of $20 million, and is expected to create around 250 jobs.

Designy Doors engineer Ahmed Ibrahim said the first phase comprises 15,000 square meters of production facilities developed with investments of $12 million.

Another company engineer, Ahmed Abdo, said the project aims to produce 120,000 wooden doors and 168,000 WPC doors, as well as 4 million linear meters of accessories and finishing products. Output will serve the local market, while a portion will be allocated for export.
