NTRA launches Egypt’s first-of-its-kind e-platform 'Auction'

Arab Finance: The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has launched “Auctions,” the country’s first electronic platform of its kind in the Egyptian market, as per an emailed press release.

Auctions offers a range of customized telecommunications services aimed at large corporations and institutions.

The platform is designed to provide innovative technological and service solutions to support major companies across various business sectors, helping them boost profitability, enhance services, and strengthen their customer contact centers, the authority said.

The move comes as part of NTRA’s strategy to reinforce Egypt’s position as a regional and global hub for call center services and to support the country’s competitiveness in exporting digital services, following significant growth in the sector over the past decade.

The first auction will be held on January 26th, 2026. Companies will be able to register on the platform and participate in monthly auctions through a simplified digital process, allowing them to obtain numbers electronically without bureaucratic hurdles.

The launch came after conducting research that showed a gap between companies’ needs for distinctive, easy-to-remember numbers and their customers’ preference for simple contact options.

Such numbers can help improve service delivery, facilitate customer interaction, and boost client satisfaction.

It added that the initiative marks a first step toward automating more of the authority’s services, in line with the state’s digital transformation agenda, with auctions used to ensure competition and transparency in the allocation of numbers.
