Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has reappointed Rasha Abdel Aal Hassan as head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) for a one-year term, according to a statement.

Under Decree No. 2556 of 2026, Abdel Aal will serve at the Excellent Grade level within the Ministry of Finance.

The decision supports ongoing efforts to modernize the ETA’s operations, enhance tax services for taxpayers, and advance digitization and tax reform in line with the state’s economic objectives.

Abdel Aal is the first woman to lead the ETA. She has held several senior positions at the authority and contributed to projects to develop and modernize Egypt’s tax system.

Her previous roles include assistant to the ETA head, director general of the General Administration for Research on Exemptions for International, Regional and Diplomatic Organizations, and head of the Risk and Electronic Systems Audit Unit.

She subsequently headed the Central Strategic Administration before serving as deputy head of the ETA.
