Arab Finance: Sarwa Insurance, the insurance arm of the non-banking financial services group Contact Financial Holding, has been named “Digital Insurer of the Year” in the Customer Experience Transformation category at the Digital Insurance MENA Awards 2026, as per an emailed press release.
The award marks the first time an Egyptian general insurance company has received this recognition and follows an evaluation process that included 21 insurers from across the Middle East and North Africa.
According to the organizers, entries were reviewed by an international jury of senior insurance executives and industry specialists from the Middle East and Africa, based on criteria covering governance, innovation, and digital transformation.
The recognition was granted for SarwaNow, an application that enables a fully digital motor insurance issuance process for newly purchased, unlicensed vehicles in Egypt.
Through the application, customers can complete pricing and policy issuance via mobile phone, without the need for branch visits or paper-based procedures.
SarwaNow currently focuses on motor insurance policies for new vehicles.
The platform includes digital onboarding, identity verification, electronic payments, and in-app document storage.
The service operates under the Financial Regulatory Authority’s (FRA) licensed fintech framework and reflects the integration of Contact Financial Holding’s technology systems with Sarwa Insurance’s underwriting operations.
Established in 2001, Contact Financial Holding provides non-banking financial services across consumer finance, auto finance, insurance, mortgage finance, leasing, and factoring through its subsidiaries, affiliates, and investment partners.
The group uses an integrated operating model to deliver financing and insurance services to individuals and businesses in Egypt.
The award was announced during the fourth edition of Digital Insurance MENA 2026, held in Dubai.
The conference, organized by Dubai-based insurance industry platform Digital Insurance, brought together more than 160 speakers and advisors and over 1,500 technology professionals and decision-makers to discuss developments in digital insurance across the region.
