Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated two factories owned by the medical equipment company Technovision for Industry and Trade in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), with combined investments of $16 million, as per a statement.
Located within Orascom Industrial Parks, the facilities specialize in outfitting ambulances, mobile clinics, and mobile blood banks, as well as assembling dental chairs, machines, and other equipment.
The inauguration took place during Madbouly’s tour of the zone to open and inspect several factories. Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and company officials attended the event.
Madbouly said expanding the localization of healthcare-related industries is a key pillar of efforts to strengthen Egypt’s production capacity and provide the equipment and supplies required by the healthcare system.
He added that the range of activities covered by the two projects demonstrates the opportunities available for specialized industrial investment and could strengthen the Egyptian market’s ability to meet local demand for medical products.
Moustafa Shaikhon, Chairman of SCZONE, said Technovision’s projects provide an example of specialized manufacturing tied directly to the requirements of vital sectors. The ambulance facility adds domestic capacity in specialized medical vehicles, while the dental equipment plant introduces a new industrial activity supported by technical cooperation and expertise transfer.
Shaikhon said the projects combine German expertise in medical vehicle outfitting with Egyptian-Chinese cooperation in dental equipment. These partnerships could help develop domestic industrial capabilities and support SCZONE’s efforts to attract projects with the potential to expand production and increase local content.
Following the unveiling of the first factory’s inauguration plaque, Madbouly and his delegation inspected several ambulance models. Mohamed Ali Hamza Khader, Chairman of Technovision, said the $10 million facility outfits ambulances, mobile clinics, and mobile blood banks.
The factory currently occupies 1,500 square meters across two production halls and can outfit up to 50 ambulances a month, or 600 annually. It provides about 60 jobs, with a further 8,000 square meters allocated for future expansion.
Production is carried out under the supervision of Germany-based ambulance and special-purpose vehicle manufacturer Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug (WAS), in line with international technical specifications and quality standards.
Madbouly subsequently inaugurated Technovision’s second facility, which assembles dental chairs, machines, and equipment. During the tour, the delegation inspected the base assembly line, motor and electrical installation operations, the assembly of service units for dentists and assistants, and the testing and final-product area.
Khader said the second factory represents an investment of $6 million. The 1,000-square-meter facility comprises one production hall with capacity to assemble 100 dental chairs a month, or 1,200 annually, and provides about 60 jobs.
The project operates through an Egyptian-Chinese partnership with China-based dental equipment manufacturer Runyes. Technovision has allocated an additional 5,000 square meters opposite the facility for future expansion, while the project’s next phase will focus on marketing its range of products.
