TMG, EFG Hermes-backed Egypt Education Platform plan private university in Noor City

Arab Finance: Egypt-based real estate developer Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) and Egypt Education Platform, backed by the Egypt Education Fund managed by EFG Hermes, have signed a strategic alliance to establish a private university in Noor City, East of Cairo, as per an emailed press release.

Under the agreement, the university will be developed on a dedicated land plot within Noor City, one of Talaat Moustafa Group’s fully integrated master developments.

The planned institution is expected to offer academic programs across multiple faculties, supported by international academic affiliations.

The project targets rising demand for private higher education in Greater Cairo, particularly in East Cairo, where population growth and household incomes continue to increase alongside a limited supply of premium private universities.

Egypt Education Platform’s current portfolio includes 23 schools and preschools across Egypt, offering British, American, International Baccalaureate, Montessori, and national curricula to more than 15,000 students.

The platform also owns Selah El Telmeez, an Egypt-based education content developer that serves between 3 million and 4 million students annually.

The university project marks Egypt Education Platform’s entry into the higher education sector and builds on its existing partnership with TMG.

The two companies currently operate five schools serving around 9,000 students within TMG’s communities in Madinaty and El Rehab.

EFG Hermes Investment Banking acted as the sole financial advisor on the transaction, which remains subject to regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of customary conditions.
