Arab Finance: Al Baraka Bank Egypt has signed a cooperation agreement with the Cairo-based nonprofit Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation to donate EGP 30 million to sponsor the Pediatric Outpatient Department at the new Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in Cairo, as per an emailed press release.
The donation is aimed at supporting the delivery of free-of-charge healthcare services, with the pediatric outpatient unit expected to provide precise medical examinations and advanced diagnostic services to thousands of children each year.
The initiative is positioned as part of broader efforts to strengthen Egypt’s healthcare system, particularly in specialized pediatric cardiac care.
The new Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in Cairo has been designed with a capacity three times larger than the Aswan-based Magdi Yacoub Heart Centre.
Once fully operational, the facility is expected to handle up to 120,000 outpatient visits annually and treat around 12,000 patients, a significant proportion of whom are children.
The latest contribution builds on an ongoing partnership between Al Baraka Bank Egypt and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation.
The bank has previously supported the Cardiac Care Unit at the new Cairo center, underscoring its stated commitment to directing community investments toward projects with long-term, sustainable impact, with healthcare remaining a central focus.
