Labor Ministry announces April 13th paid holiday for private sector on Sham El-Nessim

Arab Finance: Egypt’s Minister of Labor Hassan Radad announced that Monday, April 13th, will be an official paid holiday for private sector employees on the occasion of Sham El-Nessim, as per a statement.

Employers were granted the right to require employees to work on the holiday if business needs require it. In such cases, employees are entitled to double their regular daily wage in addition to their standard pay, or to receive an alternative day off upon request.

Mostafa Madbouly had earlier announced the same holiday, confirming that it applies to employees across ministries, government entities, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies, as well as the private sector.
