Arab Finance: International gold prices retreated on Tuesday, August 25, after hitting their highest level in more than three months yesterday, as investors shifted their focus to upcoming US inflation data and a speech later this week by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.
Spot gold was down 0.2% at $4,640.39 per ounce as of 03:34 GMT, while US gold futures steadied at $4,696.00.
In Egypt, 24-karat gold was priced at EGP 7,594.06 per gram for buyers and EGP 7,512.53 for sellers, according to the latest data shown by Dahab Masr as of 10:26 am Cairo time.
Meanwhile, 21-karat gold stood at EGP 6,645.47 per gram for buyers and EGP 6,574.12 for sellers.
