Egypt’s consumer financing leaps 88.5% in H1 2026: FRA

Arab Finance: The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) recorded a remarkable surge in its non-bank financial performance during the first half (H1) of 2026, with consumer financing reaching EGP 71.839 billion, as per the authority’s report.

Consumer financing rose by 88.5% from EGP 38.110 billion in H1 2025, while total beneficiaries increased by 75.7% year on year to 8,465 at the end of June from 4,816.

Financial leasing amounted to EGP 90.631 billion in H1 2026 through 1,045 contracts, an annual rise of 7.3% from EGP 84.470 billion.

Total factoring activities jumped by 32.3% year-on-year (YoY) to EGP 78.024 billion from EGP 58.958 billion.  

Likewise, the financing granted to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) climbed to EGP 54.216 billion from EGP 49.171 billion.

Net assets of Egypt’s investment funds increased by 14.7% in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, reaching EGP 470.97 billion, compared to EGP 410.69 billion at the end of March.
