Johnson Controls Arabia to power Egypt's Capital Med with digital solutions

Arab Finance: Egyptians for Healthcare Services inked an agreement with Johnson Controls Arabia at Badr University in Cairo to provide the largest smart medical city in the Middle East, Capital Med, with its world-leading smart building automation system, Metasys, for building automation and management, according to an emailed press release on February 26th.

Capital Med is built on an area of 577,000 square meters and offers an extensive array of integrated and exceptional healthcare services and facilities.

It is set to include more than 4,000 beds, 700 intensive care units, and 70 operating rooms upon completion.

Capital Med, as the first healthcare city in Egypt owned and operated by the private sector, will include 19 specialized integrated healthcare centers, two hotels, and a shopping mall.

The first phase of the project is expected to kick off this year, and will include a multi-specialty university hospital with 532 beds, an outpatient complex that includes 168 clinics and 30 dialysis units, an advanced simulation center for education and training, a virtual hospital, a command-and-control center, and a central services station.
