Arab Finance: The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has awarded the global marine fuel supplier Peninsula Company a bunkering services license to be the second international company to provide ship-refueling services in Egypt, as per a statement on June 3rd.
The company will begin offering its services at the Egyptian ports on the Mediterranean, the statement read.
Earlier in May, Egypt granted its first bunkering license to Mercuria Energy Group’s Minerva Bunkering to operate in Egypt’s northern and southern ports and the Suez Canal’s convoy waiting areas.
The move comes within the framework of the country’s plans to become a leading hub in the ship-refueling field as well as to scale up the value added of its ports and the Suez Canal, El Molla said
